The architectural firm of PERFORM Architecture was established in 2013 by Steven Debello with the aim to deliver a full architectural service, from initial conceptual design all the way through construction and maintenance. The goal is to take projects from concept to hand-over with complete ownership and responsibility whilst achieving honest, efficient and beautiful architecture.
At PERFORM we achieve our client’s and project goals by looking for the balance between the pragmatism of function, efficacy of resources, fiscal responsibility, honesty in materials and a natural beauty that can achieve proportion and aesthetics pleasing to the eye and kind to the body… that which is rare to formulate. If we were to verse a mantra, it would be: ‘To perform beautifully’.
PERFORM Architecture is a confirmation of our discipline to the application of architecture. It is in three parts:
PERFORM - To execute, get the job done, give a performance, enact, to be extremely effective in improving a situation, to act, to put on a show.
FORM - To develop into a distinctive entity, a style of expressing oneself, change shape – ‘the water formed little beads’, hold shape – ‘concrete formwork’, Vetrivius’ human form, create – ‘they formed a social group’, behaviour, quality and ability - ‘to be in form’, ‘Form follows Function’ (Louis Sullivan), free-form with no style or structure, human intelligence ‘life-form’, affirmation – ‘in any way shape or form’, development – ‘to take form’.
ARCHITECTURE - Generally acknowledged as the art and science of designing and making buildings, aesthetics, style, structure and system – ‘the architecture of a computer system’, the discipline of design, construction and ornamentation, coordination and management in the procurement of buildings, context.
We aim to represent the profession, our clients and stakeholders honestly, professionally and with integrity. To leave a lasting impression and to practice by the example:
